Experience Door County's most beautiful view all day long at this true log cabin located on the waterfront of famous Death's Door Passage.  With views of Plum Island lighthouse, Pilot Island lighthouse, and Northport Ferry Dock all from the porch of this quaint cottage, the only view more impressive than the islands scattered across the pristine blue waters by day is the sea of bright shining stars spanning the northern skies overhead by night.  Sink into your chair and watch the ferry boats cross the channel to Washington Island well into the night before stepping outside to catch satellites and shooting stars which are regularly gazed upon from this site on clear nights.  By day, either enjoy a swim in the clean waters of Lake Michigan off a stone beach in front of the cabin or jump on a ferry from Northport to enjoy a fun filled day exploring Washington Island or Rock Island, both memorable experiences.  Northport Ferry Dock is less than a five minute walk away and also has a delicious restaurant where you can catch breakfast, lunch, or dinner overlooking the harbor.  The Bell Cabin is perfect for a family, couple, or group of friends looking to get away from the tourist traps in the busy towns and to take in the true nature of Door County's treasures.  With a large flagstone porch off the water, the "backyard" (or off-water side) is a perfect location for grilling and campfires.  Between the beach, lake, and wilderness, kids of all ages will have no problem finding many adventures to fill their days and create memories that will last a lifetime.  The cabin is located a few miles car ride or bike form Gill's Rock where you can find provisions as well as sight seeing cruises, dive boats, and fishing charters.  Also located in Gills Rock is a coffee house, gift shops, and The Shoreline, another great restaurant with an unbeatable view of the sun setting over Green Bay during dinner hours.

The cabin itself is centered around a large stone wood burning fireplace.  Behind the fireplace is the main bedroom which includes a double bed, two dressers, and a full fold down futon.  In front of the fireplace there is full fold-out couch which can also sleep two adults or is perfect for kids.  If further bed space is needed, there is another fold out couch on the porch which overlooks the water and lighthouses.

Many tell stories of vacations to Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, or Sister Bay and the wonderful times they have had in Door County, but few have ever traveled far enough North to experience the full wonders of this amazing peninsula.  This cabin is literally located on the Northernmost tip of Door County on 200 feet of shoreline and looks off towards Washington, Plum, Detroit, and Pilot Islands and onward toward Michigan.  For the true adventurers who want to leave the city behind and get completely swallowed up in nature's beauty, The Bell Cabin offers an atmosphere that is second to none.  We hope to see you there!

Blackford’s Keep is one of Door County’s hidden treasures!  Enjoy yourself in a secluded paradise on the Northern tip of the Door County Peninsula.  Located just off Highway 42 in Ellison Bay, WI you will find yourself captivated by a beautiful meadow, outlined by tall birch and pines.  The woods abound with wildlife and the vast array of bird houses on the property welcome our feathered friends year round. The cabin is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Blackford’s Keep features a full kitchen with all the amenities of home and overlooks the great room with a large stone, wood-burning fireplace.  This is definitely a place to sit down, relax and spend time with your family, friends or a good book.  The screened-in front porch and wrap-around deck offer a great view of the meadow by day and the starry skies at night. You can enjoy a bonfire and roast hot dogs or marshmallows fireside.  There is never a lack of things to do, shopping at the local artist hotspots, sitting down to a terrific meal, or skipping stones at the beach.  You may want to charter a fishing boat, take the ferry out to Washington Island, or take a winery tour for the afternoon. We know you will find something for everyone in Door County.

The cabin was designed by Architect/ Artist John Ivar Anderson in the 1980’s. The native-inspired southwest design art in the cabin was hand crafted by John over the years with many items found in and around Door County.  The art and the ambiance add to the beauty and charm Blackford’s Keep will bring to you upon your arrival.  You will also find many items hand-crafted by local artists.  Blackford’s Keep has been an Anderson family retreat for the last 30 years, we love and cherish all that it has to offer.  We know your stay at Blackford’s Keep will bring you peace, tranquility and contentment.  We hope you decide to make Blackford’s Keep your family’s home away from home year after year as we do.

On the shore of the most beautiful bay in Northern Door County, Cappy Cottage is a lovingly cared for family retreat nestled in a forest of cedar, pine, and birch trees.  There is over 300 feet of private shoreline facing east over North Bay and Lake Michigan.  You must be warned that your early mornings may be interrupted by incredible sunrises.  Fortunately, you will be able to make up the lost sleep as the only sounds you hear at night are the breeze in the trees and the crackling of the Milky Way overhead.

North Bay Drive is a very quiet, little traveled road which makes it a perfect place for couples to spend a quiet week or a family with kids to safely run amok in the summer sun   The woods surrounding Cappy have many “secret spots” to explore and the beach is full of fossil bearing rocks dating back to when the area was under a tropical sea.  The water off Cappy’s beach shallows gradually and warms sooner than many of the Door County beaches.  The north end of the bay is a wonderful playground of sand flats and shallow water.

The yard in front of Cappy is an inviting place to while away a summer afternoon reading and snoozing.  It features the oldest, intact shuffle board court in Door County. (though mostly used for sidewalk chalk art these days).  At the end of a day spent adventuring in the County, you have a grill and picnic table for a cookout or you can prepare dinner in Cappy’s well equipped kitchen and finish the day with S’mores at the firepit on the beach as the moon rises over North Bay.

Best of all, Cappy offers the charms of the Quiet Side of Door County yet is 10 minutes away from all the activities in the villages and our terrific parks.

But don’t take our word for it!  Quotes from the Cappy Cottage guest book:

“Cappy became our home away from home……We’ll take great memories back to St. Louis and Cappy will be their center focus.”

“Cappy Cottage oozes with Wisconsin charm….the sunrises off the Bay were priceless!”

“The cottage is so warmly appointed and welcoming!  It was everything I had hoped for…..& more.  Thanks for making this special place available.”

Welcome to Country Gardens Cottage, located 2 miles east of Sister Bay in beautiful Door County Wisconsin.  Terry Lindenberg (home builder) and Chris Lindenberg (vegetable and flower grower) will be your hosts.  They invite you to vacation in their impeccably kept cottage which was moved to their property in 1930.  A deck connects to their log home built in the 1860’s.

Country Gardens Cottage boasts a fully equipped kitchen, living room with queen size hide-a-bed, 32” flat screen TV, DirecTV, DVD player, bedroom with queen sized bed and full bath.  All linens and towels are provided.  Enjoy quiet time on your own deck that includes a Webber grill.

You’re welcome to stroll the grounds where you will find 20 plus flower gardens and a large vegetable garden.  Veggies are sold on the property and are available to you at no charge.  They also feature a lovely gazebo, built by Terry, for their son’s wedding in 2000.  The grounds are available for weddings.

Just ¼ mile from the cottage, you will find the Three Springs Nature Conservancy, where you can hike and see wildlife at its best.

Come join the Lindenberg’s for a delightful Door County experience.
