The Homestead was federally granted in 1868. It is now owned by our second generation family since 1991. The first generation bought the Homestead in 1943, & raised 6 children. All reside in Door County except for the present owners.
Renovation started in 1991 & competed in 1994. During renovation, an 1800’s locale newspaper “Advocate” was found as insulation in the window jams.
The Homestead has original antiques, including a handmade harvest table built in the late 1800’s, which when pulled out on each end, will seat 18 people. There were many meals served at this table during “threshing” times and also during the holidays with family.
The Homestead has a fully equipped kitchen, fire pit, wraparound deck, weber grill, large yard & Satellite TV, and a peaceful atmosphere.
Jacksonport has a “Country Store”, antique stores, quaint white clapboard churches, a park on a sandy beach, fine food & spirits, & Cave Point County Park.
You can enjoy all the quaint little villages “up & down” the shoreline just a few short miles within each other!
We like to share our Homestead & history of our Door County Home!
Enjoy the Solitude!
