Lakeside Haven sleeps 6. Two bedrooms upstairs: a double bed in one room with a lake view from its small balcony and two twin beds in the second room. The main floor bedroom has a double bed. Living room couch opens to a double bed to accommodate extra guests. Full bath with shower/tub is on the main floor. Kitchen contains all you need–pots, pans, utensils, coffeemaker, dishes, microwave, new stove and refrigerator–to cook what you like. For nights at home, enjoy cable TV, DVD player, or build a fire in the Franklin stove to make s’mores. Expansive lakeside deck (26 ft. x 9 ft.) has built-in benches and table for outdoor dining after cooking on the gas grill. Grumman canoe (17 ft. square stern), paddles, and life preservers available for use.
Enjoy the lake view from Adirondack chairs or the gentle lap of the waves from the shore-side hammock on this Quiet Side of Door County. Glidden Drive’s public Lake Michigan boat launch is a few miles away and a little farther is Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County Park. Lakeside Haven is within walking distance of the Shivering Sands Natural Area, 485 acres of pristine dunes, kettles, swales, small lakes, streams, ponds, fens, bogs, and forests. It is recognized as an “Important Bird Area” by the Audubon Society.
Lakeside Haven is a chalet-style home from Stanmar Leisure Homes, Sudbury, MA (design copyrighted in 1967) of 1248 sq. ft. and features a 5-ft. diameter circular stairway with 2.5 ft. guard railing. The home has been inspected and licensed by the state of Wisconsin.
